<strong>Parc de Kiba<\/strong>, le 4 Janvier 2025. <\/p>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re exposition artistique \u00e0 laquelle j\u2019ai assist\u00e9 pour cette nouvelle ann\u00e9e \u00e9tait celle d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 Ryuichi Sakamoto (\u5742\u672c\u9f8d\u4e00) au Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MoT, \u6771\u4eac\u90fd\u73fe\u4ee3\u7f8e\u8853\u9928). Je le souhaitais ainsi car je voulais y trouver une inspiration qui m\u2019avait manqu\u00e9 pendant les derni\u00e8res semaines de l\u2019ann\u00e9e. L\u2019exposition intitul\u00e9e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mot-art-museum.jp\/en\/exhibitions\/RS\/\">seeing sound, hearing time<\/a> (\u97f3\u3092\u8996\u308b \u6642\u3092\u8074\u304f) a d\u00e9marr\u00e9 le 21 D\u00e9cembre 2024 et se d\u00e9roulera jusqu\u2019au 30 Mars 2025. J\u2019appr\u00e9cie bien s\u00fbr les compositions au piano de Ryuchi Sakamoto, qui nous a quitt\u00e9 en Mars 2023 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 71 ans, mais ce sont surtout ses compositions plus exp\u00e9rimentales qui m\u2019attirent et qui sont le sujet de cette exposition. Dans les ann\u00e9es 2000, Ryuichi Sakamoto a collabor\u00e9 avec diff\u00e9rents artistes sur des grandes installations sonores et visuelles, et l\u2019exposition se concentre sur ces installations. La plus impressionnante est issue d\u2019une collaboration entre Ryuichi Sakamoto et Shiro Takatani (\u9ad8\u8c37\u53f2\u90ce) et est intitul\u00e9e TIME TIME (2024). Cette installation a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 sp\u00e9cialement pour cette exposition, mais est bas\u00e9e sur une pi\u00e8ce de th\u00e9\u00e2tre intitul\u00e9e TIME datant de 2021. C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re \u0153uvre que l\u2019on peut voir au d\u00e9but de l\u2019exposition et c\u2019est certainement la plus fascinante. Elle se compose de trois larges \u00e9crans sur une longue salle. On nous raconte une fable nous interrogeant sur ce qu\u2019est le temps. Le danseur, chor\u00e9graphe et acteur Min Tanaka (\u7530\u4e2d\u6cef), \u00e2g\u00e9 de 79 ans, y repr\u00e9sente l\u2019humanit\u00e9 cherchant \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler la nature. Les sc\u00e8nes abstraites accompagn\u00e9es par la musique sombre et envo\u00fbtante de Ryuichi Sakamoto sont entrecoup\u00e9es par des interludes montrant la joueuse de l\u2019instrument traditionnel japonais <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sh\u014d_(instrument)\">sh\u014d<\/a>, Mayumi Miyata (\u5bae\u7530\u307e\u3086\u307f), traverser les trois \u00e9crans d\u2019un pas lent, les pieds dans une fine surface d\u2019eau. On s\u2019assoit dans le noir et on se laisse hypnotiser par cette longue fresque qui doit bien durer une trentaine ou quarantaine de minutes. Je voulais prendre mon temps pour appr\u00e9cier et m\u2019impr\u00e9gner des \u0153uvres de cette exposition. La moiti\u00e9 des installations pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es sont des collaborations avec l\u2019artiste Shiro Takatani, bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Kyoto. Sa collaboration avec Ryuichi Sakamoto d\u00e9marra en 1999 lorsque ce dernier lui demanda de prendre en charge la direction visuelle de son op\u00e9ra LIFE. Les deux photos ci-dessus montrent deux \u0153uvres de Ryuichi Sakamoto avec Shiro Takatani. IS YOUR TIME (2017) montre un piano surplomb\u00e9 par un panneau vid\u00e9o montrant le ciel et ses intemp\u00e9ries. Sakamoto trouva ce piano dans une \u00e9cole de la pr\u00e9fecture de Miyagi d\u00e9vast\u00e9e par le grand tremblement de terre et tsunami de Mars 2011. Il a vu ce piano transform\u00e9 par la nature, ayant perdu son r\u00f4le et sa fonction primaire car on ne peut plus en jouer, mais faisant d\u00e9sormais partie enti\u00e8re de la terre qui l\u2019entoure jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pouvoir transmettre ses g\u00e9missements. LIFE-fluid, invisible, inaudible\u2026 (2007) est une autre collaboration remarquable de Sakamoto et Shiotani. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une installation sonore et visuelle compos\u00e9e de neuf bassins transparents d\u2019eau plac\u00e9s en hauteur dans une grande salle sombre. Un brouillard intermittent se cr\u00e9e dans ses bassins sur lequel sont transmis des images vid\u00e9os provenant de l\u2019op\u00e9ra LIFE de 1999. Le sens inh\u00e9rent de chaque installation est difficile \u00e0 appr\u00e9hender mais on les ressent comme une exp\u00e9rience sensorielle forte. On ressent, comme une constante dans chaque installation, le concept de temps que Sakamoto veut nous faire entendre \u00e0 travers ses compositions (hearing time). De cet album, je n\u2019avais sur mon iPod que le premier morceau <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vppKHuw5N1U\">andata<\/a>. J\u2019ai couru acheter l\u2019album au Disk Union de Shinjuku quelques jours apr\u00e8s avoir vu l\u2019exposition. Le morceau andata est un morceau tellement fort \u00e9motionnellement que j\u2019ai toujours eu un peu de mal \u00e0 le g\u00e9rer, tout en appr\u00e9ciant sa beaut\u00e9 conceptuelle touchant \u00e0 l\u2019exp\u00e9rimental. Le morceau aurait tr\u00e8s bien pu s\u2019appeler S\u014dretsu (\u846c\u5217, cort\u00e8ge fun\u00e8bre), comme pour nous pr\u00e9venir de ce qui nous attend si on ne prend pas plus de consid\u00e9ration pour notre environnement terrestre. J\u2019ai pourtant toujours gard\u00e9 cet album en t\u00eate avec l\u2019envie de l\u2019\u00e9couter un jour car son titre m\u2019intriguait beaucoup. Les installations de la deuxi\u00e8me partie de l\u2019exposition utilisent des musiques que l\u2019on trouve r\u00e9unies sur l\u2019album async. L\u2019installation async-immersion Tokyo (2024) est une adaptation de l\u2019oeuvre du m\u00eame nom d\u2019abord montr\u00e9e \u00e0 Kyoto en 2023 apr\u00e8s la mort de Sakamoto. Sur un tr\u00e8s large \u00e9cran vid\u00e9o, des images reprennent le concept vu en photos sur l\u2019album async. Des paysages ou des objets de vie et de travail de Ryuichi Sakamoto sont liss\u00e9s progressivement en bandes visuelles et sonores. Les images se transforment en bandes sonores, puis les bandes sonores se transforment \u00e0 nouveau en d\u2019autres images, mat\u00e9rialisant le concept de l\u2019exposition de \u00ab\u00a0voir le son\u00a0\u00bb (seeing sound). L\u2019album async est magnifique, difficile d\u2019approche car il est conceptuel, mais les compositions que l\u2019on \u00e9coute viennent nous toucher profond\u00e9ment. C\u2019est en ce sens qu\u2019il n\u2019est pas toujours facile \u00e0 g\u00e9rer. La plupart des morceaux de async sont abstraits et on les accompagne par des images dans notre t\u00eate en les \u00e9coutant. L\u2019album s\u2019oriente parfois vers l\u2019exp\u00e9rimental, avec des morceaux comme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vmYiDakfvwo\">disintegration<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=n-T5GGtzWrI\">async<\/a>, parfois atmosph\u00e9rique, comme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=I6TSqdHGb9k\">garden<\/a> concluant l\u2019album. En \u00e9coutant certains morceaux de l\u2019album comme celui intitul\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3kHOXelpCYs\">ubi<\/a> qui est rythm\u00e9 par une sorte de bip hospitalier, on ne peut s\u2019emp\u00eacher de penser \u00e0 sa mort r\u00e9cente, ce qui nourrit un peu plus l\u2019\u00e9motion qu\u2019on peut avoir \u00e0 son \u00e9coute. Maintenant que je l\u2019ai \u00e9cout\u00e9 plusieurs fois pour en appr\u00e9cier les asp\u00e9rit\u00e9s, j\u2019aimerais repartir voir l\u2019exposition avant qu\u2019elle ne se termine au mois de Mars. En chemin vers l\u2019exposition, J\u2019avais \u00e9cout\u00e9 un autre album de Ryuichi Sakamoto que j\u2019aime vraiment beaucoup, celui qu\u2019il a compos\u00e9, arrang\u00e9 et produit pour Miki Nakatani (\u4e2d\u8c37\u7f8e\u7d00). Cet album s\u2019intitule <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lcRt21a-jmk&#038;list=OLAK5uy_kH_4Sy-Z3M5ta_odymT3CgmrWtwRxxJZQ\">Shiseikatsu<\/a> (\u79c1\u751f\u6d3b) et j\u2019en avais parl\u00e9 dans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fgautron.com\/weblog\/archives\/2023\/04\/08\/sakuranochihare\/\">un billet<\/a> l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re. Pendant environ une demi-heure, un brouillard blanc vient envahir par intermittence la terrasse, nous laissant seul, isol\u00e9 des autres visiteurs que l\u2019on ne voit plus. Ce sentiment d\u2019isolation et de r\u00e9confort lorsque l\u2019on aper\u00e7oit quelqu\u2019un d\u2019autre devant nous est assez particulier. J\u2019en ai pris de nombreuses photographies que je montre en t\u00eate du billet. Les gens apparaissent soudainement sous la lumi\u00e8re puis s\u2019engouffrent de nouveau soudainement sous une autre vague de brouillard. Au loin, une personne seule, debout et fixant le vide, semble r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 sa vie et son avenir. Je recherchais un peu de cet \u00e9tat d\u2019esprit en venant voir cette exposition. Ces photographies me rappellent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fgautron.com\/weblog\/archives\/2020\/09\/05\/ces-etranges-nuages-blancs-qui-nous-entourent\/\">certaines compositions<\/a> vaporeuses, faites de superpositions d\u2019images, que j\u2019ai tr\u00e8s souvent exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 et montr\u00e9 sur ce blog.<\/p>\n<p>Les co\u00efncidences veulent que j\u2019ai regard\u00e9 le matin de ma visite de l\u2019exposition le film <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cOpWDxxiwoE\">Monster<\/a> (\u602a\u7269, L\u2019innocense) du r\u00e9alisateur Hirokazu Kore-eda (\u662f\u679d\u88d5\u548c), qui est finalement disponible sur Amazon Prime. Je ne me suis rendu compte qu\u2019en cours de route que Ryuchi Sakamoto en avait compos\u00e9 les musiques, car on peut y entendre le morceau intitul\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FvT_7CFlcBg\">Hibari<\/a> de son album out of noise (\u30a2\u30a6\u30c8\u30fb\u30aa\u30d6\u30fb\u30ce\u30a4\u30ba) sorti en 2009. Le film nous raconte l\u2019histoire d\u2019un jeune gar\u00e7on au comportement \u00e9trange dans une ville de province japonaise. Son histoire est racont\u00e9e sous plusieurs angles pour nous faire progressivement comprendre qui est le v\u00e9ritable monstre mentionn\u00e9 dans le titre. Comme souvent dans les films de Kore-eda, il nous raconte l\u2019enfance qu\u2019on ne cherche pas assez \u00e0 comprendre, ou qu\u2019on oublie de comprendre, lorsque l\u2019on devient adulte.
