6h comme tous les matins. Assis sur le tatami, en regardant par une fen\u00eatre entrouverte le jardin du petit h\u00f4tel dans lequel nous s\u00e9journons, j\u2019\u00e9cris sur mon iPad les textes qui accompagneront les trois billets <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fgautron.com\/weblog\/archives\/2026\/03\/29\/hypnotic-innocence-cathartic-existence-3\/\">hypnotic innocence, cathartic existence<\/a>. Ces trois billets s\u2019appuient sur une photographie imaginaire cr\u00e9\u00e9e par une intelligence artificielle que j\u2019ai guid\u00e9 progressivement dans le processus de cr\u00e9ation. Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9crit enti\u00e8rement ces trois billets, j\u2019ai pourtant longtemps h\u00e9sit\u00e9 avant de les publier, comme si quelque chose m\u2019emp\u00eachait de le faire. Les quelques exp\u00e9rimentations r\u00e9centes de Shohei Otomo \u00e0 partir d\u2019intelligence artificielle, qu\u2019il montre sur son compte <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/shohei_otomo\/p\/DWMemu_GOMk\/?img_index=11\">Instagram<\/a>, lui ont valu une grande majorit\u00e9 de commentaires n\u00e9gatifs qui essaient m\u00eame de le d\u00e9courager d\u2019utiliser l\u2019intelligence artificielle. Je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re grandement quand Shohei Otomo utilise ses crayons et stylos pour dessiner, car ce qu\u2019il dessine est \u00e0 mille lieux de ce qu\u2019il cr\u00e9e avec l\u2019IA, mais loin de moi l\u2019id\u00e9e de vouloir d\u00e9courager quelqu\u2019un \u00e0 essayer de nouvelles choses qui l\u2019am\u00e8neront peut \u00eatre plus tard vers de nouveaux horizons. Shohei Otomo \u00e9crivait ceci: \u00ab\u00a0<em>Whenever I post something related to AI, there&rsquo;s always a wave of high-temperature reactions. It clearly shows how many people are still struggling to process the times we&rsquo;re living in. But to put it bluntly, Al is not going away. We have no choice but to live with it. Emotion alone won&rsquo;t change that. Friction between structure and emotion. The heat of a shifting era. I draw. And I use Al. Let me be clear. There is no tool more creative or compelling than Al &#8211; except for the human hand<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0. C\u2019est ce qui m\u2019a finalement pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 publier ces trois billets. Dans mon cas, ces images ne sont pas des fins en soit car elles me poussent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9criture de fictions. Je ne sais si j\u2019ai un quelconque talent pour \u00e9crire ces petites histoires mais j\u2019\u00e9prouve en tout cas un plaisir certain \u00e0 les imaginer.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s le petit d\u00e9jeuner, nous marchons un peu au hazard des rues de Naramachi en direction du temple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kohfukuji.com\/english\/\">K\u014dfuku-ji<\/a> (\u8208\u798f\u5bfa) que nous avions rapidement parcouru hier soir. On se laisse assez rapidement attir\u00e9 par autre temple nomm\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/gangoji-tera.or.jp\/en\/\">Gang\u014d-ji<\/a> (\u5143\u8208\u5bfa), qui est class\u00e9 au patrimoine mondial de l\u2019Unesco et qui se trouve \u00eatre un des plus anciens temples du Japon. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019origine au VIe si\u00e8cle sous le nom Asuka-dera et a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9plac\u00e9 \u00e0 Nara en 718, lors de l\u2019installation de la capitale \u00e0 Heij\u014d-ky\u014d (\u5e73\u57ce\u4eac). Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 alors renomm\u00e9 Gang\u014d-ji et fut consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme l\u2019un des premiers centres du bouddhisme japonais. Il s\u2019agissait \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque d\u2019un vaste temple dont l\u2019enceinte couvrait une grande partie de l\u2019actuel quartier de Naramachi, mais il a perdu de son importance au fur et \u00e0 mesure des \u00e9poques. Il s\u2019agit aujourd\u2019hui d\u2019un vestige d\u2019un ensemble beaucoup plus vaste. Il reste principalement le hall principal Gokurakub\u014d (\u5143\u8208\u5bfa\u6975\u697d\u574a) avec des tuiles datant de l\u2019\u00e9poque Asuka. L\u2019ensemble n\u2019a rien de monumental mais il est situ\u00e9 dans un lieu calme, presque cach\u00e9, qui lui donne une atmosph\u00e8re silencieuse tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able. On est ici loin de la foule du T\u014ddai-ji. Nous ne sommes pas m\u00e9contents d\u2019avoir d\u00e9couvert ce petit tr\u00e9sor architectural un peu \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cart, ce qui nous fait dire qu\u2019on pourrait certainement passer de tr\u00e8s nombreuses heures et journ\u00e9e \u00e0 explorer Naramachi. Nous continuons ensuite vers l\u2019\u00e9tang Sarusawa et le grand temple K\u014dfuku-ji que nous avons cette fois-ci l\u2019intention de visiter. En chemin, je trouve quelques \u00e9tranges objets architecturaux et artistiques, mais d\u00e9j\u00e0 au loin, mon \u0153il est attir\u00e9 par les cerfs sauvages faisant leur apparition alors qu\u2019on approche progressivement du parc de Nara. On nous avait dit qu\u2019ils approchaient parfois le jardin int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019h\u00f4tel o\u00f9 nous avons pass\u00e9 la nuit, mais on ne les a malheureusement pas vu. Ashura fait partie d\u2019une s\u00e9rie de huit \u00eatres mythologiques formant un ensemble de statues bouddhiques inspir\u00e9es de figures de la mythologie indienne, int\u00e9gr\u00e9es au bouddhisme comme protecteurs du Bouddha et de ses enseignements. Elles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 sculpt\u00e9es entre 733 et 734, r\u00e9alis\u00e9es en laque s\u00e8che creuse, et se trouvaient \u00e0 l\u2019origine plac\u00e9es dans le pavillon occidental du temple disparu \u00e0 cause d\u2019incendies. Certaines statues, notamment celle d\u2019Ashura, ont des visages jeunes, sans doute li\u00e9s \u00e0 la volont\u00e9 de leur m\u00e9c\u00e8ne, l\u2019imp\u00e9ratrice K\u014dmy\u014d. Je suis content d\u2019avoir pu voir cette magnifique statue \u00e0 la posture \u00e9lanc\u00e9e et \u00e0 la d\u00e9licatesse \u00e9trange, presque m\u00e9lancolique et humaine.<\/p>\n<p>Le dieu bouddhiste Ashura (issu des asura de la mythologie indienne) poss\u00e8de une nature complexe, \u00e0 la fois violente et profond\u00e9ment humaine. C\u2019est un \u00eatre belliqueux, symbole du conflit, des passions humaines et de la lutte constante, mais il incarne une figure de dualit\u00e9, entre col\u00e8re et possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9veil, comme une destruction peut engendrer un recommencement. Contrairement \u00e0 d\u2019autres divinit\u00e9s, il peut exprimer une tristesse contenue, pas seulement la fureur. Au Japon, Ashura est souvent per\u00e7u moins comme un d\u00e9mon que comme une figure tragique et introspective, ce qui rend cette figure particuli\u00e8rement fascinante.
