Ski at JOETSU Kokusai

JOETSU KOKUSAI, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21th of March 1999, nice week end arranged by Seb at Joetsu Kokusai ski resort, rather small but very nice. We left Tokyo station at 9:00 am to the North where there’s a lot a snow (the resort is at a little more than 2 hours by train).

The first day, before descending our first slope and falling so many times there !

Ah, japanese snow, actually it’s the same as the one we have in France. The weather was not excellent but we could ski. Hopefully !!!

We were smilling before leaving the hotel, it was very different on the way back.

The next day, in the early morning (it’s so hard, we don’t deserve that !!). We go and fight again. I tried snowboard for the first time and I can say it’s not easy at all. Snowboard is very popular in Japan mainly mainly among young people (we are young so we had to try it). The picture is a bit bizarre, I don’t know why.

Quick break in front of one of the most beautifull hotel of Joetsu. The inside makes think to Titanic, with its narrow corridors. It has an european style but the rooms inside are typically japanese.

Tokyo Station, a last family picture near the Shinkansen we took. That’s all folks, tomorrow is another day, and the bad thing is that tomorrow is monday …..
